I have an active litigation and dispute resolution practice. I have advocated in numerous criminal and civil trials and arbitrations regarding complex business, commercial, financial, and contractual disputes. I have handled every stage of litigation from pre-suit negotiations, discovery, mediation, motion practice, arbitration, trial, and appeal. This vast knowledge and experience also provides me with the opportunity to counsel clients in drafting and reviewing various contracts, management agreements, leases, purchase and sale agreements, release agreements, indemnity agreements, and other legal documents.

Prior to founding Hearn Law, I was a partner in the litigation department at Johnson Pope Bokor Ruppel & Burns, LLP, where I practiced for over eight years.
I began my career serving the people of the State of Florida as an Assistant State Attorney in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida for over three years. During that time, I litigated thousands of cases ranging from white-collar crime (e.g., fraud, conspiracy, theft, embezzlement) to violent offenses (e.g., first degree murder, robbery, aggravated battery). I brought over forty jury trials to verdict and advocated before the Grand Jury to a successful indictment in a capital case. Based on my trial experience, I was selected as the Lead Trial Attorney, and presented awards for Excellence in Prosecution by RID of Tampa Bay and for Outstanding Service as a Prosecutor.
In addition to practicing law, I have served as a Trial Advocacy Skills Instructor at Stetson University College of Law. Along with my wife and law partner, Trina Hearn, I coached Stetson’s nationally recognized Trial Team to a first-place finish in the Florida Justice Association’s Mock Trial Competition.
